Pastor Gregory L. Jackson
Our congregation began during the last century. Several families found that the established Lutheran synods were participating in the same doctrinal errors, especially unionism, the Church Growth Movement and self-esteem. They organized an independent congregation named A Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church. The congregation called Pastor Jackson in 1998 to serve as the pastor. He moved to Glendale with his wife Chris and his mother Gladys, who is now 90 years old. The members converted the garage into a chapel. Members now include people who listen to the service through a teleconference bridge. They live in Idaho, Minnesota, Ohio, Kansas, and Australia.
A Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church works with several other independent congregations: Bethany Lutheran Church in New Ulm, Minnesota, and Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Midland, Michigan. This year our annual conference will be in Glendale, marking the anniversary of the signing of the Augsburg Confession. For more information about the conference, click this link.
Several people asked to have a confirmation class through the Internet. This is just being set up now. If you are interested, send an email to Pastor Jackson. Click on the catechism link to find the confirmation pages.
